Takwi Muma, MD

“Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.” I serve as a doctor at University Health and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. I work to ensure everyone receives quality health care, especially those who struggle to access it.

My story is that I grew up in a small town in Cameroon and watched a loved one face illness without the care they needed. That experience pushed me to become a doctor and help people in similar situations.

I believe everyone deserves compassionate, high-quality care, regardless of their location or income. I work every day to close the gap for underserved communities.

My approach is to treat every person with kindness, respect, and compassion. I listen closely, tailor care to each individual, addressing both medical and personal needs. I actively promote preventive care by encouraging checkups, vaccinations, and healthy habits.

What I love about my work is building lasting relationships with my patients and seeing how good care can improve their lives. I enjoy that medicine allows me to combine science with caring and helping others. I feel honored to support people through their health journeys.

Outside of work, I play soccer and enjoy biking.
